BforeAI predicts cyber-crime preventing harm to businesses

How this cybersecurity startup detects dangerous domains and protects businesses

No longer the preserve of sci-fi, behavioral AI and predictive technology is being leveraged by cybersecurity startup BforeAI to autonomously predict, block and preempt cybercrime before an attack is launched.

AI misinformation and cyberattacks make up the second and fifth global risks to the planet, according to the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2024. Considering these two risks were just behind climate change, it underscores the sheer scale of the problem BforeAI are tackling.

The trio of European-Argentinian founders Luigi Lenguito, Luciano Allegro, and Sebastian Cesario, developed their patented AI technology partly in response to the rise of brand impersonation and spoofing. Leveraging Kubernetes, BforeAI curates an immense network of infrastructure behaviors, which allows their technology to process billions of data points daily.

Identifying cyberhackers who exploit and manipulate

The founders noticed these online threats tend to increase particularly during global events like the Paris Olympics or the US elections, with criminals exploiting the heightened public interest and online activity.

“Cybercriminals employ event-themed phishing, impersonation and typosquatting to deceive users, creating fake websites and fraudulent domains to steal credentials or distribute malware,” Sebastian says.

Malicious and cybercriminal activities had been swirling for months ahead of the Paris Olympic Games. Adversaries set up social media accounts, stores, ticketing systems, and cryptocurrencies capitalizing on the popularity and commotion of the Olympics.

BforeAI’s recent report showed multiple websites were attempting to suppress voter turnout by providing misinformation about voting dates, locations, and requirements. News articles promoting specific propaganda against certain candidates and fake facts through whistleblowing websites were disseminated to manipulate voter opinions and behaviors, with the goal of impacting the election outcome.

“Attackers are now using generative AI to create more sophisticated and insidious impersonation attacks using deepfake technology”, added Sebastian. This is a particularly pressing concern in today’s political climate as cybercriminals are becoming increasingly more reliant on AI to mimic human behavior to manipulate and infiltrate.

BforeAI is fighting back with their predictive AI solution that has ambitious growth plans following completion of the Google for Startups Growth Academy: AI for Cybersecurity program.

“The Google for Startups Growth Academy provided us with invaluable connections to key players within Google, helping us navigate the company from the inside. This support opened doors to collaboration agreements, potential partnerships, and better visibility into our product roadmaps,” Sebastian says.

The startup is partnering with Google web-risk, a platform that has an evaluation API that scores a website on their maliciousness to increase the reach of criminal activity disruption. They are also benefiting from Google Cloud Platform (GCP) exploring big data tools and services and Safe Browsing connectivity to add value to their customers. Looking ahead, they will be exploring Gemini foundational models to develop specialized predictive agents to further expand their capabilities.

The future of predictive analytics is here

The trio are optimistic about the future, with plans to continue expanding their development and quality assurance teams to adapt to new types of cyber fraud.

Among their most notable successes is signing their clients up to multi-year contracts and “preventing more than 20 million scam attempts daily,” Sebastian claims.

“We’ve saved our clients millions of dollars by identifying and eliminating threats before they become full blown attacks,” says Sebastian.

BforeAI predicts daily 70,000 future malicious infrastructures using their patented PreCrime technology, and delivering these attack disruptions in under seven minutes.

“We recently completed our Series A funding, became a US business entity and continue to grow 20% every month. BforeAI has exciting growth plans, and we will continue to leverage our patented AI technology to be one step ahead of cybercriminals.”
